Pag's dance, as we know today, was created in the second half of the 19th century. In that time, a group of reformers, with the help of the town government, restored several, somewhat forgotten, traditions of the town. Pag's dance has always been performed followed by the music from "mišnjice" (a kind of an instrument).

Curative mud

Lokunja is the south-west part of the town of Pag, in close vicinity of Prosika. It is approximately 20 000 m² of shallow sea which covers rich layers of curative mud. Its curativeness is proved not only through experience but by many scientific researches. It is used in healing rheumatic and dermatological diseases. The mud is applied to the body and left to dry.

Ornithological reserve

The ornithological reserve Veliko blato, is a shelter for a wide variety of marsh birds, especially during the period of nesting, migration and hibernation. The length of the marsh habitat is about 2 km, with an average width of app. 1.2 km. The northern part is surrounded by reeds (Phragmites communis), which are especially well-developed in the southeastern part of the reserve. Beside reeds, there are some varieties of sedges (Carex sp.), rushes (Juncus acutus, J. conglomeratus, J. maritimus) and other marsh varieties (Scirpus sp., Sparganium erectum, etc.). The edge of the depression is covered by meadows which are sometimes flooded in the spring and fall.

The dry-stone fence with its shapes, surface, appearance and purpose, is one of the most representative examples of native folk architecture.

SAGE is a medicinal herb of great healing capacity, very commonly used. The leaves and flowers are picked in May and July, while in bloom. It is dried in a dry and airy place but not in the Sun. It contains essential oils, potassium, sodium and bitter matters. Sage helps healing colds, inflammations of respiratory organs, but also the problems of the oral cavity.

Beaches

The bay of Pag consists of 27 km of sandy beaches. However, the island of Pag is also rich with beaches on its outer parts. There are beautiful beaches in Stara Novalja, Novalja, Šimuni, Košljun, Povljana, Smokvica, Vlašići, but also far away from the villages, like in Goriška Draga, Mali Zaton, Veli Zaton, Malin, Baška slana. The largest beach of all is the beach Zrče, near Novalja. It also has the most diverse offer which includes catering and entertainment establishments which are open all night long.
